Pointwest Technologies Corporation will be attending the upcoming 2010 [i]Centrum der Büro- und Informationstechnik[/i] (CeBIT) trade fair in Hannover, Germany, as an Exhibitor, on March 2-6, 2010. At CeBIT, Pointwest will showcase its extensive experience in providing outsourced software services using enterprise-level Java, Microsoft, PHP and mainframe technologies. Pointwest also has industry expertise in transportation, gas, banking and e-commerce.

This November, Pointwest executives will fly to the United Kingdom as part of a trade delegation to the Philippine Business Forum in London 2009. On November 16 and 17, at the Park Lane Sheraton Hotel, Philippine government representatives and Philippine ICT (information and communications technology) industry players will come together to talk about the advantages of and opportunities in outsourcing and offshoring in the Philippines.
The Philippines was the National Outsourcing Association’s 2009 Offshoring Destination of the Year in the 4th NOA Awards held on October 15 in London.
Pointwest is once again a proud participant of an international business process outsourcing (BPO) trade mission. The first leg kicks off in Toronto, Canada on July 27 – 28, with the venue at the 35th floor of the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre on 250 Yonge Street, Toronto. With the support of the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service, business matching will be done between the delegate companies and participating Canadian groups. The second leg will be a cocktail event at the Philippine Center, 556 5th Ave., New York on July 29. The 2009 World BPO Forum, the last leg of the trade mission, will be at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Jersey City, New Jersey on July 30 – 31. Pointwest will be part of the Philippine country pavilion for this event.
Pointwest Technologies Corporation is set to provide an elective course at the De La Salle University – College of Computer Studies (DLSU-CCS) this term from May 30, 2009 to August 15, 2009. The program is patterned after Pointwest’s entry-level boot camp and delivered in three-hour sessions every Saturday. It showcases a gamut of topics ranging from language skills such as .Net Programming, C# Programming, Database Management using SQL Server to software engineering processes such as test-driven methodologies and coordination techniques.
Pointwest Technology conducted a Software Engineering seminar at the University of Baguio last March 28, 2009. This was attended by members of the Philippine Society of IT Educators (PSITE) – Cordillera Administrative Region as well as IT (Information Technology) professors from local colleges. The seminar aimed at providing instructors with an industry perspective on Software Engineering practices.
